FOV CALCULATOR · FPS ITALIA

Calculate the Perfect FOV for your simulator

Enter your monitor size and eye distance to get the ideal field of view. Less of a "wide-angle" effect, more of a realistic feel when braking.

FVERTICAL OV

This calculator is designed for SimRacing: it sets a realistic FOV based on your physics setup, not randomly.

Step 1 · Monitor and position

Enter your setup data

If your monitor is not listed, choose “unlisted” to configure it manually.
Value in inches (e.g. 27, 32, 34...).
Monitor format (e.g. 16:9, 21:9...).
Actual measurement from the tip of the nose to the center of the screen.
For the main calculation the central one counts, but we use it for the notes.
Only used if you have a triple screen, for a rough guide.
If the monitor is curved, indicate the radius (e.g. 1000R, 1500R).
Enter the R-value indicated by the manufacturer (e.g. 1000 = 1000R).

How to use this FOV in the most common games

Each simulator handles FOV slightly differently (vertical, horizontal, or hybrid parameters). Use the calculated value as a reference and then make small adjustments based on your on-track experience.

Assetto Corsa Competizione +
ACC uses a Vertical FOVEnter the vertical FOV value recommended by the calculator into the graphics menu. Then try 1–2 degrees more or less until the perception of braking distances feels natural.
Assetto Corsa +
Assetto Corsa also works vertically, although many interpret it as horizontal. Use the suggested vertical FOV and make sure you're in a "realistic" seat position (not too far back).
iRacing +
iRacing already has a built-in calculator, but you can compare the results with this tool. Enter the diagonal and distance into iRacing as well and verify that the value matches our vertical FOV.
rFactor 2 / other sims +
Many modern sims use a vertical FOV or have options to choose the FOV type. Select "vertical" when possible and enter the calculated value; otherwise, use the horizontal equivalent shown by the tool.
EA Sports WRC / console +
Not all console rally games allow fine-tuning of the FOV. In these cases, use the calculator as a mental reference: if the game seems too "wide-angle," look for a camera option with less zoom and adjust the view distance.
You fixed the FOV. Now you can work on the feeling: handbrake, sequential gearbox, button panels and dashboard to have everything under control when cornering.
